It's hard to take a brand at the top of its game any higher, so we picked a fight outside the category. The protein found in Jack Link's jerky gives you the energy to push you through any day, unlike the superficial bursts found in energy drinks. So we put jerky in a can and shelved it right next to them.
I developed the concept, designed the experience, and created the 3D mockups. Made together with Becka Hammond (art direction), Ryan King (copy), Hannah Zetty (concept, strategy), and strategy from Jordan Bryant and Kamryn Young.
There are few specific occasions that people think about jerky: road trips and doing things outdoors. As 48% of the US meat snacks market, Jack Link's is doing really well at these, but these limited occasions, combined with overtly masculine advertising, limit potential growth.
